codebypanic is a developer-first security company. We build the APIs and tools teams use to encrypt, test and ship software that handles sensitive data.
We started in 2021 as three engineers who were tired of rebuilding the same encryption layer for every client. So we turned it into a product: one API that seals sensitive data the moment it enters your system.
Make strong encryption the default, not a project. Every developer should be able to protect user data properly without becoming a cryptography expert — or slowing their team down.
We are a small, senior team of backend, security and developer-experience engineers from all over Europe. Some of us came from big tech, others from startups and open source — all of us ship.
We are remote-first with a home base in Vienna. We write things down, review each other's code, and meet in person a few times a year to plan, build and argue about naming.
